Sebastian Vettel missed out on Q3 for the 11th consecutive time as the German will line up in P11 for Sunday’s race in Bahrain. However, considering it is still a good place to start a race, Vettel advised Ferrari to be a “sly fox” in tomorrow’s race.
Vettel took to his team radio following the chequered flag for Q2. “Let’s see what we can do tomorrow. Let’s be sly fox tomorrow,” he said.

The German looked in good touch through the qualifying session. He was looking fast enough to get himself into the top 10 by the end of Q2. Unfortunately, a few mistakes during the final run hampered his lap as he could only manage a P11.
Despite missing out on Q3, Vettel would still be pleased with the fact that he will start ahead of his teammate, Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque will line up alongside Vettel in P12.
Overall, Ferrari will be looking to use their tire advantage to the fullest in a desire to see their cars in the top 10 by the end of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The Ferrari driver had a clear shot at getting himself into Q3. However, a “couple of wobbles” prevented him from moving into the next stage.
“I had a couple of wobbles,” Vettel told his race engineer. Apparently, he made mistakes in turn 6, 7, 8, and 9. However, what’s surprising is that he still got himself up to P11 despite the blunders.
“Fronts weren’t quite ready, I think. Then I forced it into [turn] 6. I lost the rear. From there it was a bit scrappy up into turn 11,” Vettel said.
It looks like there are a lot of positives to take from Ferrari’s weekend so far. Considering Ferrari’s pace in qualifying, Vettel will definitely have a chance at scoring some points in the race, and his starting position only makes it sound even better.
All Vettel will need tomorrow is a decent start and staying out of trouble going into the narrow turn 1. From there it will be a long race and anything can happen. Hence, will everything fall in place for the German tomorrow?
