Ferrari finished the 2020 season in P6, claiming 131 points – far away from the front. Now, John Elkann, the interim president, has the behemoth task of changing the current state of the Maranello team. Recently, he talked about the performance of the team and the way forward.
A week ago, Elkann witnessed Ferrari’s test drive session at Fiorano. During the conference call with financial analysts on the 2020 accounts, he said, “A great past doesn’t necessarily mean a great present and a great future.”
“We have to start over with humility.
“We are not satisfied with our current results in Formula 1 – he continued – and we will work with humility and dedication to change them,” explained the Maranello outfit president.

Sainz debuts for Ferrari and vows to win
Carlos Sainz, Charles Leclerc, and Mick Schumacher drove for Ferrari’s private test session at Fiorano last week.
In an earlier interview, Sainz had explained the goals he had set for himself when he started racing – to become an F1 driver and win a world championship. Now that the Spaniard is driving for Ferrari F1, he stated his ultimate goal is to win the championship with the Maranello outfit.
“Since the very first day I started racing, I only had two targets in mind: to become a Formula 1 Grand Prix driver and to win the World Championship.
The ambition is to help create a winning team, bring the Scuderia back to the very top where it belongs and win the World Championship,” he said.
Carlos Sainz and his teammate, Charles Leclerc, spell the youngest Ferrari line up since 1968. The Monegasque and the Spaniard will try hard to get their team on the path back to glory, as soon as possible.
