WEC: Ferrari to the Top of LMGTE in FP2 as Toyota Take Another 1-2

Toyota Gazoo Racing were 1-2 once again with Brendon Hartley’s early session 1m47m.673s lap 0.5s faster than the #7 GR010 Hybrid and 0.8s faster than his best time in FP1.

Kamui Kobayashi is the fastest driver in the #7 car with a 1m48.200s lap while the #36 Alpine ELF Matmut A480-Gibson was third fastest, with Matthieu Vaxiviere posting a 1m49.056s as the team concentrates on long stint runs.  

LMGTE Pro  

Daniel Serra pushes Ferrari into top position in LMGTE Pro for the first time.  The Brazilian in the #52 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo laps the Bahrain International Circuit in 1m57.509s to lead #91 Porsche by 0.4s. 

Fred Makowiecki, who joins Richard Lietz and Gimmi Bruni in the #91 Porsche, sets a 1m57.924s best to take second spot ahead of Kevin Estre in the #92 Porsche and the #51 AF Corse Ferrari in fourth.

LMP2  

The #29 Racing Team Nederland Oreca, which leads the LMP2 Pro/Am title chase, is quickest in 90-minute FP2 session as Giedo van der Garde posts a 1m50.513s, which is 0.2s faster than the best time in FP1.

United Autosports places second as Filipe Albuquerque sets a 1m50.559s lap, just 0.046s behind van der Garde’s time. Championship leaders Team WRT are third as Ferdinand Habsburg’s set a 1m51.190s in the #31 Oreca early in the session.

LMGTE Am 

Matt Campbell sets the best time in LMGTE Am, lapping the circuit in the #77 Dempsey Proton Porsche in 1m58.489s, 0.2s faster than Antonio Fuoco in #47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari. 

Iron Lynx consolidates Ferrari charge with third-best time as Andrea Piccini set a 1m58.753s best in the #60 Ferrari 488.  The title leading #83 AF Corse Ferrari places fifth, while their championship rivals in the #33 TF Sport sits in P8.
