It took the better part of several hours, but the FIA stewards finally confirmed the much debated starting grid for Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix.
As expected, championship leader Max Verstappen will launch his race from seventh – and not fourth as reported by many outlets – while Lewis Hamilton and Yuki Tsunoda will close out the starting order, with Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz lining up just ahead in P18.
The out-of-position contenders are sure to provide fans with some electrifying opening laps, while those who are set to benefit from others’ demotions – that’s you McLaren and Pierre Gasly – will be determined to hold their own in the upper tier of the field.
