Russell: Bill still not settled with Albon after “driving like grandma” in F1 Monaco GP

George Russell may have selected the most expensive meal on the menu when taken to dinner in Monaco by Alex Albon – but the Mercedes driver insists it still does not make up for him driving like a “grandma” during the grand prix last weekend.
After an electrical issue in qualifying left him 14th on the grid, Russell already said that his weekend had “gone up in smoke” before the race …Keep reading

FIA World Rallycross Championship: Live and Free

Sport news

Every event of the 2025 FIA World Rallycross Championship and FIA European Rallycross Championship will be streamed live and free on YouTube – making rallycross one of the most accessible elite-level global sports.

Ensuring rallycross is free-to-access has been one of the core objectives in a bold new era for the sport, which blasts back onto the legendary Circuito Automóvel de Lousada in Portugal from 31 May to 1 June.

In addition to the live stream – hosted on the World RX YouTube Channel and accessible via the re-launched fiaworldrallycross.com – the FIA World Rallycross Championship will also be broadcast locally, with national broadcast partners in key territories, as well as being available online.

The target is to bring the thrilling action of rallycross to as many people as possible, using different forms of media and distribution to reach different audiences and demographics. With YouTube as the biggest streaming platform and streaming growing its overall share of viewing figures globally, World RX is adapting to reach the next generation of fans whilst also being available to watch on traditional broadcast media, which continues to make up a significant proportion of the market share*.

Whichever way you watch, the trademark close-quarters combat of the FIA World Rallycross Championship will be easier to watch than ever before in 2025.

FIA Road Sport Director, Emilia Abel, said: “Rallycross is one of the most action-packed forms of motor sport, but that only matters when people can watch it! We’re at the start of a new journey to grow this category, and I’m very happy that we will be streaming all of our races live and for free – we feel it is essential for the long-term success of the championship.”

FIA Chief Commercial Officer, Craig Edmondson, said: “There’s not a one-size fits all solution when it comes to broadcast strategy, and from the very beginning our target with the FIA World and European Rallycross Championships has been to prioritise growth, and maximise the potential reach for our fans, organisers, teams and partners. We’re making sure that we target key territories for our events, whilst ensuring that we don’t put any barriers up for the fans to watch the action.”

The action kicks off on Thursday THIS WEEK with a fan event in Lousada Old Town, where spectators can meet the stars of Rallycross in the heart of the city at a special autograph session. Practice then begins at the circuit from Friday 30th May, building to the main event on Sunday 1st June.

With grandstands expected to be packed and energy levels sky-high, this will be a race weekend to remember. Fans can get their tickets here.

JA on F1 Podcast: How Monaco reflected the championship’s cultural and financial boom

Monaco was not the most exciting grand prix despite Lando Norris closing the gap on his McLaren team-mate and Formula 1 championship leader Oscar Piastri, after his maiden victory in the Principality.
McLaren also extended its already massive lead in the constructors’ standings and no-one looked happier on the podium than the organisation’s CEO Zak Brown.
But away from the track, Monaco …Keep reading
