Kalle Rovanperä vaulted to the top of the provisional FIA World Rally Championship standings with a dominant Vodafone Rally de Portugal victory this afternoon, his second consecutive triumph on the gravel event based in Matosinhos close to Porto.
Co-driven by Jonne Halttunen, world champion Rovanperä claimed victory in commanding fashion – the ninth of his career – having led from Friday afternoon onwards in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid.
Dani Sordo was second ahead of his Hyundai team-mate Esapekka Lappi, who completed the podium, with Gus Greensmith winning FIA WRC2.
