The Williams drivers never disappoint when it comes to ending someone’s dominance or changing the result of a race. In 2021 Abu Dhabi, it was Nicholas Latifi who crashed and was the reason why the controversy happened in the first place and now at the Miami GP, as the dominant Max Verstappen looked to win the race even with a struggling car, Latifi’s successor Logan Sargeant was responsible for Lando Norris’ first win. However, his slip-up at his home race has awarded him the label of “Lance Stroll’s Twin Brother with no talent”.
Lance Stroll over his years has been criticized for being a Pay Driver and for being in F1 only because his father owns the Aston Martin team. And while Stroll isn’t the greatest of drivers, he is a good enough driver to be in F1 and score some points. But the level of competitiveness has increased so much that he looks slow, and also having drivers like Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso doesn’t help either.
The American F1 driver Logan Sargeant attracts similar comments as well after his poor performance over the last year and the multiple crashes that he’s been involved in. One of these was at the Miami GP yesterday, where Kevin Magnussen clipped his rear tires and sent the Williams driver spinning into the barrier. However, F1 commentator Olav Mol suggests that Sargeant shouldn’t have allowed Magnussen beside him in the first place and if he did, he should’ve had the awareness to know about his presence.
According to F1Maximaal.nl, Olav Mal said, “Sargeant makes a mistake, allowing Magnussen to cross back. Sargeant has to know he’s there. If he says he didn’t know Magnussen was there, I’ll let him hand in his super license tomorrow. I find it shocking that Sargeant shouted: I read that my position would be under pressure, but from Australia, I am actually doing quite well. He just shouts that himself! What world do you live in then?”
He then called Sargeant Lance Stroll’s twin brother and emphasized the fact that the American is not as good as the Canadian in terms of talent and nor does he have the same kind of money that Stroll has. “Then you’re just Lance Stroll’s twin brother if you talk like that. With less money and no talent. Was Nicholas Latifi better than Sargeant?”
Regardless, these comments will be the least of Logan Sargeant’s concerns right now as the rumors around the paddock suggest that he will soon be replaced by Kimi Antonelli. Let’s see how the Americans have responded to these rumors.

Earlier last week, Nico Rosberg suggested that it might be too early for Toto Wolff to sign Kimi Antonelli as the Italian has definitely shown potential, but is nowhere close to the level where Mercedes would want him to be. Hence, Rosberg advised that the best option would be for Williams to sign him, nurture him, and get him ready for Mercedes, just like it happened in George Russell’s case. And coming into the Miami GP weekend. Rumors had it that Williams had asked FIA for special permission to let Kimi Antonelli race.
When asked about the rumors of Williams being the team who have put in the special request for Kimi Antonelli to race as he’s only 17 at the moment and the rules require him to be 18, Logan Sargeant replied, “No, I wouldn’t say [I have distractions]. You know, I talked to James [Vowles, Team Principal] internally. I talked to my managers. I’m comfortable. That’s all internal talk. So I’m not, I’m not going to say anything.” He added, “I’m doing my job to the best I can. Jumping in FP1 this weekend was the most comfortable I’ve felt all year, and I feel like I was straight away on it,”
