‘Right Driver To Partner Max’- Red Bull Delighted To Have Perez In The Team For 2021

Red Bull Racing have today announced the long-awaited decision of Max Verstappen’s teammate for 2021. And a deserving candidate in Sergio Perez will take up the responsibility of fulfilling those expectations next season.

The Austrian outfit had always indicated that it would decide only after the 2020 F1 season. And having considered all the pros and cons, they have now brought in ‘Checo’ to provide able enforcement to Max in the races.

Speaking to the website, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner stated, “Alex is a valued member of the Team and we thought long and hard about this decision.”

Red Bull have decided Sergio Perez is the ‘right driver’ to partner Max Verstappen

“Having taken our time to evaluate all the relevant data and performances we have decided that Sergio is the right driver to partner Max for 2021 and look forward to welcoming him to Red Bull Racing.” concluded Horner.

With most seats filled up on the F1 grid, three candidates vied for the golden second seat at Red Bull. But no fan of the sport will say that the choice to pick Perez over Hulkenberg and Albon was incorrect, from a racing perspective at least.

Sergio Perez enjoyed a career-best phenomenal season in 2020

Going into the 2020 season, the frontrunners for the Top 3 places were fixed with Hamilton, Bottas and Verstappen. But the race for P4 in the Drivers’ standings was always going to interest F1 fans.

Perez drove mightily and, more importantly, with consistency in the 15 races that he participated in. Securing a P4 despite missing out on two races due to coronavirus, is a truly outstanding achievement.

Red Bull fans can now relish the prospect of seeing a talented F1 driver take to the wheel of the RB17 car next year. Needless to say, they will hope Perez adds on to the brilliant Sakhir GP win from this season during his stay at the team.
