F1 Rumor: Lewis Hamilton Set to Receive .5 Million Souvenir From Fred Vasseur and Co.

The perks of being a Ferrari driver are finally hitting Lewis Hamilton as the $500 million deal was not enough. Ferrari is excited for the 7-time world champion to make his way to their team in 2025 and the signs are showing as early as now. Bring the to-be brand ambassador for the Prancing Horses, it’s only fair that Hamilton drives a new Ferrari.

Being a world champion for both McLaren and Mercedes has brought in sweet rides for the world champion as gifts and Fred Vasseur will not hold back either. Last year in October, the Ferrari 499P was unveiled to the world as a celebration of winning the 24 hours of Le Mans, and this year the car has been spotted with an overhaul look, hinting that it might just be for Lewis Hamilton.

The curious #44 Ferrari 499P

In 2023, Ferrari built a car resembling their machine that won the Le Mans race, as reported by Carscoops.com. The hyper-expensive car comes in at a whopping $5.5 million, and it comes with some Ferrari privileges. After paying the handsome amount, owners of the car can expect two years of on-track support at Ferrari-organized events through Ferrari’s Sport Prototipo Clienti program. But now you must be wondering, how does this link with Lewis Hamilton?

Well, recently, Ferrari made a custom 499P, and with the number 44 brand, it’s hard to believe that it’s not for Lewis Hamilton. 44 has been his number for years and the new black glossy car with golden accents screams Hamilton from Cars 2 the movie. While there is still no confirmation that Ferrari plans to give this to Hamilton as a gift, all the signs point in that direction. The body of the car has the graphics of ’44’ on both the doors and the hood of the car, giving it a racing look.

Other signs that point this to being for Hamilton include the fact that the color scheme of the car is similar to the one Brad Pitty will be driving in the upcoming F1 movie. Which is produced by none other than the 7-time world champion, who will be dressed in those colors. There have been modifications to the Ferrari 499P as it is faster than the Le Mans version due to not running for a 24-hour race. This gives the engineers enough space to push up the performance without worrying about having a car be pushed to its limit for 24 hours. While it’s unclear if this car will be added to Hamilton’s collection, the future Ferrari driver already has some of the best rides on the planet. Let’s take a look at them, shall we?

Lewis Hamilton’s car collection

Lewis Hamilton has a long list of cars in his garage, many of them have been there for years and there will always be room for more. When we talk about his cars, one of the most iconic vehicles that he has ever owned has to be his one-off, Pagani Zonda LH which was custom-made for him in purple. The 7-time world champion mentioned that it was one of the worst cars when it came to driving it and he sold it off in 2021.

Other cars in his list include Mercedes AMG Project One, Mercedes AMG SLS Black, Mercedes AMG G63 6×6, Mercedes Maybach S600, Ferrari LaFerrari, Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, 1966 Shelby Cobra 427, 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, McLaren P1 and 1995 McLaren F1. Some of which he still has, but there are some that he has sold over the years. We know that the 499P will not be his first Ferrari, but if Fred Vasseur gifts him the machine, it will be his first since deciding to join the iconic team.

That being said, do you think the custom Ferrari 499P is for the British champion? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
