BJÖRK INHERITS RACE 1 VICTORY AFTER EHRLACHER PENALISED
In the opening race of the season Yann Ehrlacher crossed the line first after an extended battle with teammate Santiago Urrutia, but a ten-second penalty for overtaking off track dropped him to third, giving stablemate Thed Björk the win.

Both the polesitter Guerrieri and Björk lost ground at the start. Urrutia surged from fifth into the lead, while local drivers Julio Rejón and Michel Jourdain also gained positions. Rejón briefly held second before running wide, allowing Ehrlacher to move up.

A crash for Ignacio Montenegro triggered an early safety car. Ehrlacher and Urrutia swapped the lead under team orders before resuming their fight. Ehrlacher passed Urrutia on lap 13, but that move was later judged illegal.

Björk passed Urrutia for second before the order settled. Guerrieri recovered to fourth, with Aurélien Comte fending off Ma Qing Hua for fifth. Rejón was the best-placed Mexican in seventh. Mikel Azcona finished tenth, earning pole for Race 2’s reversed grid.

GUERRIERI WINS BY NARROWEST OF MARGINS
Guerrieri bounced back to win Race 2 by just 0.131 seconds over Ehrlacher. Azcona started from pole but was quickly passed by Rodrigo Rejón, Jourdain and Comte. Guerrieri, starting seventh, made a strong start and moved into the lead by lap three.

Contact between Ma and Rejón disrupted the early order. Guerrieri passed Jourdain and Comte, while Ehrlacher, following team instructions, overtook his teammates and hunted down the leaders. He passed Comte late on and closed rapidly on Guerrieri, who was managing a vibration, but could not find a way past.

Comte took third, his first TCR World Tour podium. Ma received a five-second penalty for his incident with Rejón, dropping him to sixth behind Björk and Urrutia. Jourdain ended up eighth, while BRC Hyundai’s struggles continued, with Girolami 11th.

Guerrieri’s win moved him into the points lead with 65, securing pole for the final race.

GUERRIERI EXTENDS POINTS LEAD
Guerrieri added his second win of the weekend in Race 3 following a commanding drive from pole. Björk finished second, followed by Urrutia, while Ehrlacher fell out of contention due to technical issues.

Ehrlacher made a poor start from third and dropped to tenth. Björk slotted into second behind Guerrieri, with Comte again making a quick getaway to take third. Urrutia passed Comte on lap two, and Montenegro climbed from mid-grid to overtake both Michel Jourdain and Ma for fifth.

Ehrlacher briefly recovered to seventh before losing pace after a mid-race safety car caused by Humberto Zesati’s crash. He eventually fell to 16th. Montenegro passed Comte for fourth in the closing laps.

Guerrieri crossed the line two seconds clear of Björk, with Urrutia third. The result gave the Argentine 95 points, 12 ahead of Björk, with Urrutia in third on 69.

The next round of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour is set to take place at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on 13–15 June.
